Uganda is a young country.
The average age is 15.8. Seventy-eight percent of the population is below the age of thirty. A country full of so many youth has energy, desire for change and transformation and the potential for dreams and the fulfillment of those dreams!
However, Uganda is also facing challenges with these youth. The teenage pregnancy rate in Uganda is 25%. Less than 25% of students finish their formal education. There are high rates of crime among this age group due to boredom and poverty.
Despite all of these challenges, there is a substantial lack of support and resources for these young people. Petros Zoe exists to fill in the gap where the support is lacking. All of the programs we have in place serve to empower youth to change the course of their future. We help them explore their passions and talents and work to use those talents to create a sustainable future. We believe that the reputation of poverty Uganda holds will end with this generation. This is the dawn of transformation!
