What does Petros Zoe mean?
The words Petros and Zoe are both of Greek origin.
Petros, meaning “Peter” or “rock” come from the biblical passage in Matthew when Jesus is speaking to his disciple, Simon Peter. “And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.” Matthew 16:18. We believe that this generation of young people will be the foundation of the future church in Uganda. We are raising up young leaders to carry the Gospel to future generations.
Zoe, meaning “life”, comes from the biblical passage in John when Jesus is addressing a group of Pharisees. “I have come that they may have life and that they may have it more abundantly” John 10:10. Too many youth in Uganda are living day to day just getting by. We believe that Jesus meant what he said about his followers having an abundant life. Through His gifting and power, we are working with these youth towards a life of abundance!
